How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of U.S. Highway ALT 19 (Pinellas Avenue) and State Road 582 (Tarpon Avenue) in Tarpon Springs, proceed west on Tarpon Avenue for 0.24 km (0.15 mi) to Spring Boulevard, then north and west on Spring Boulevard, becomes Riverside Drive, for 2.7 km (1.7 mi) to Sunset Drive, then turn left and proceed west on Sunset Drive for 0.8 km (0.5 mi) to the entrance to Fred Howard Park, then turn into the park and head west on Howard Park Causeway for 1.6 km (1.0 mi) to the westmost causeway bridge. The bench marks are along Howard Park Causeway, the bridge, and the sea wall. The tide gage and staff were at the west causeway bridge leading to the swimming beach.
